    2. Emil F. Adamski, 85 of 2644 Pelton Avenue, Akron, Ohio, formerly of Powhatan Point and Clarington, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at Akron City Hospital. He was born June 5, 1915 at Moundsville, W. Va., son of the late, Joseph C. and Christina Kempi Adamski. He was a retired employee of North American Coal Corp., a member of Amity United Methodist Church both of Powhatan Point, Ohio, a veteran of the U.S. Army, WW II, and a member of American Legion Post #228 in Powhatan Point, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph C. and Christian Kempi Adamski. Surviving are his wife, Betty Ollom Adamski; daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Ruth Ann) Samaras of Akron; brothers, Frank Adamski of California, Charles Adamski of Alliquippa, Pa. and Joseph Adamski of Clarington, Ohio; grandson, Austin Samaras of Akron. Friends will be received at the RUSH FUNERAL HOME, 125 Clarinda Drive, Clarington, Ohio, Sunday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Monday, June 5, 2000 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Holy Memorial Garden, Pleasant Grove, Ohio with full military honors. Burl ``Clark'' Rafferty DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- On Friday, June 2, 2000, Clark went home to be with The Lord. Born in Withers, W. Va., Mr. Rafferty moved from Akron to Daytona Beach, Fla. in 1987. He was the previous owner of restaurants in Akron and Buchannon, W. Va., attended the Akron Baptist Temple in Ohio and the Daytona Beach Baptist Church in Florida and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. Surviving are wife, Doris of Daytona Beach, Fla.; sons, Ronald of Harbor City, Calif., Howard of Akron, and Gary of Barberton; stepson, Richard Vineyard of Port Orange, Fla.; daughter, Judy Mullany of Delta, Pa.; stepdaughters, Linda Woofter and Sharon Soulsby, both of Akron; brother, Victor Rafferty of Parkersburg, W. Va.; sister, Audrey Richard of Silver Lake, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will take place 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cardwell Chapel, 3571 Ridgewood Ave., Port Orange, Fla., Rev. Daniel Proctor officiating. Interment Volusia Memorial Park in Ormond Beach, Fla. Calling hours Monday 6 to 8 p.m. at the Cardwell Chapel. (904-767-0120.) Thelma J. Burkhart, 77, passed away June 3, 2000. Mrs. Burkhart was born in Grantown, W. Va., and was a longtime resident of Akron. She was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for 33 years, and was very active in Wingfoot Girls. Preceded in death by her first husband, William Hibbs; second husband, Willis Burkhart; and brothers, Arthur M. Prunty Jr. and Jerry Prunty, she is survived by brothers, John (Eleanor) Prunty of Cleveland, Donald Prunty of Ocala, Fla., James (Nancy) Prunty of Cleveland, and Rodger (Leonore) Prunty of Cleveland; sister, Levine Cox of Fairmont, W. Va.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Emerson and Viola Denham of Akron; sister-in-law, Charleen Green of Akron; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Rd., Akron, with Pastor David Frees officiating. Burial at Hillside Memorial Park.
