    3. From: The Webster Echo, Jan. 15, 1904. WAINVILLE. W. S. P. Carper was interviewing the merchants here this week. Will is a jolly good fellow....Wade Flint and wife, of Richwood are visiting friends and relatives here....Luther Moffett has returned from Weston and other points, where he has been looking out a location for a general store. Luther is an energetic young business man and we wish him success whereever he may settle down....Misses Clora Given and Leola Woods and Mr. Sutton, of Cowen attended the protracted meeting at this place last Sunday. ...Uncle Van McElwain returned last week from the West and says he likes West Virginia better than ever....Harrison Woods is home from Cowen, where he had measles....Miss Lula Hollister, of Cowen, was here last week looking after the Wainville school. We have had no school yet this winter, which is much to be regretted, and as Miss Hollister is a good teacher we hope she will get it....Miss Rider of Illinois, who has been visiting relatives at this place and on Elk river, will soon return to her home. She has made many friends during her stay here who will be sorry to see her leave....Addison Weese is able to be out again, and we are indeed glad to hear of his quick recovery....That very able minister, Rev. Odell, was here last week assisting in our protracted meeting....Bert Bryant informs us that he will leave the first of next month for Philadelphia, where he has secured a position with Brandeis & Lieberman....Erbacon people turn out well to the meetings at this place, and we are glad to see them come.
