Looking for any information on Darius Melbourn ARTHUR. By the name I would say a male. Possibly could have died at birth, which I believe would have been in Webster Co. Parents: Price & Lee Arthur. Anyone have any info regarding him? Please let me know. Thanks, Faith blount@digital.net
Does anyone have the 1920 Webster County census and be willing to do a look-up? I need to find WILLIAM R. LOUGH/LOWE or LEWIS M. WALKER. William R. Lough/Lowe should have a wife, LAURA and 3 or 4 children. If Laura is not listed with her husband, she might be listed with her father, Lewis Walker. I am trying to determine if Laura disapeared before or after 1920. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cathy
Sorry about that message going through like that. I have to refigure my settings so it will go through to Rootsweb correctly. I will try it again this weekend. Faith blount@digital.net
Hello, Was wondering if someone can do a look up for me. I have searched the 1880 census via Internet, and have not come up with Mary Margaret ARTHUR(Possibly could be married.) She would have been around 38yrs of age. It is possible she is in the Hackers Creek District living by or near a Kelley family with these names. Payton 63, wife Jane 28, dau Mariah 8, Lee Arthur 17 living with them as a Farmer. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Faith blount@digital.net
Hello All! I just wanted to share a little excitement with all of you. Tomorrow, at my mother's house, there will be about 6-10 ARTHUR family members that my mother, my aunt(which are ARTHUR'S by birth) & I have never met. My aunt comes down from up north once a yr, so we planned this while she was here. My mother and aunt are the only two children to my grandparents.[Cecil T. ARTHUR & Anna Bertha ACKERMANN Arthur] The ARTHUR side to the family which includes my grandfather, his parents and his siblings have always been such a mystery. My aunt had brought many photographs with her that I have never seen in my life time. Hopefully, someone that will come tomorrow can look through them and let us know who these pictures of the past could be of. I am also going to try and scan some of the pictures before she leaves to up north and put online and maybe some of us ARTHUR family members can connect. I have several questions regarding especially two of the pictures my aunt has brought. (1)One of them is a woman and a man standing next to an ox c! onnected to a covered wagon. The man is wearing what appears to me might be a civil war uniform. (2)The other picture with several people in it has a man wearing a uniform that might be from WWI or WWII - not to sure on the history part with the uniforms, but I do know they don't look like that today. I am hoping with this new information, I can check into another path of my search, which would be the military search. I will keep everyone posted to my search as tomorrow will hopefully bring me to a lot more answers and I'm sure a lot more questions in my genealogy search of the ARTHUR family. Hello All, I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding Richard ARTHUR married to Isabella (?) Arthur listed with son: William, daughter: Kate, and daughter: Maggie. Richard is listed as a Minister. Would anyone have any information to the fact of what kind of Minister or what religion or what church he might have been a minister of? Richard was b. 1849 He is the brother of Mary Margaret ARTHUR b. 1842 d. 1930 My hopes to this question would be to find some answers to my direct line through the church he was a minister to. I'm sure the church would have kept records. Please let me know if anyone has any clues to any of the information listed above regarding any of the names. Richard lived in Webster County to my knowledge. Thank you in advance for any information I receive. Faith blount@digital.net

Hello All! Looking for any information on Mary Margaret ARTHUR d/o William Randolph ARTHUR & Mary Margaret "Mamie" BAXTER Arthur. Siblings include: Nathaniel C., George L, William Anderson & Richard. Also noted: Arters spelling according to some research. Looking for the father of Lee Anderson ARTHUR s/o Mary Margaret ARTHUR. Was she ever married? Any other kids? I am thinking that it is possible that she was close the brother named William Anderson due to the middle name connection with his and her son Lee. Any help, suggestions, comments, rumors or the least bit of info even if you don't think it is relevant will help in my search. On Lee's death certificate is says father unknown. The Webster Co. Court House burned in 1888, so I am having trouble locating a birth certificate. Was he really a illegitimate child or not? Hopefully I will find out one day. Thanks, Faith blount@digital.net
Hi Faith, Don`t know if you had a response to your question on Sandrum or not but you are probably talking about Sand Run, a small place near Bolair about half way between the Glade and Forklick districts. At one time they had a school and P.O.. I think there is still a church there....One of my relatives in the census also has the location as Sand Run P.O. One possible reason for that is in Ronald Hardways book on Webster where he mentions that in 1827, residents of Upper Glade and Fork Lick districts petitioned the Virginia Assembly asking for the establishment of polling place closer to their homes. Hope this helps. Larry
I was wondering if anyone could help me regarding the names of townships and districts from the US Census records of Webster County, WV in 1860 & 1870? In 1860 there was a township/district called Sandrum in 1870 the only ones were Holly, Glades and Forklick. By 1870 was Sandrum considered another county maybe? I found some relatives on the 1860 census in Sandrum and can not find them on the 1870 Webster Co. Census or any of the other families that lived nearby. Can anyone shed some light for me? Thank you, Faith blount@digital.net

Hello, I was wondering if anyone can look up a marriage for me. I am searching for the marriage date of Lee Anderson ARTHUR to Price STILTNER. It would have been 1888 or before. With the Court house burning down, I am having trouble finding this info. I was told once that this info could be found at the state level, because this info would have been sent there also - Is this true? Also, when did WV become its own state? If anyone can help it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Faith blount@digital.net

Dear List, I would like to obtain a copy of the birth record for my husband's paternal grandmother Ethel Fray ("Fray") SMITH, b. 13 November 1908. Her family lived in the Lewis/Upshur County area, but I have not found her birth record in the former. I know some of her ancestors lived just over the line in Webster county, so perhaps it is there. Can anyone provide me the address for the Webster County Courthouse and their charge for copies of documents? Thanks for your help. Marcia
