Hi Autumn, You should have no problem at all making the woodchopping festival and going to Camp Caesar. It doesn't take long at all to drive between the two of them. There is a motel in Webster Springs called Mineral Springs Motel (304)847-5305. I believe it is located right behind Baker's Island (I don't know if it is stilled called that or not) where the festival is held or at I should say where it used to be held. I haven't been for quite some time. I know this motel is quite booked most of the time, so it would probably be a good idea to call early. Thanks everyone! I just located the route from Webster to Cowen on a map. A little confusing with all the Route #'s, and Point Mountain is actually the other way up Route 15 from Webster Springs. However, did I find it! Looks close enough to be able to hit both the Woodchoppers Festival and the Britton reunion. Sometime before I head out, maybe a few of us can make arrangements to meet that weekend in Webster. Where is a good place to stay in Webster Springs? I don't think I'm taking the camper for this one since no sites are really close. And Terri - I sent a note out to see if my default E-mail (AutumnK) address accesses this E-list. I'm pretty sure I subscribed under this old mail address, though. We'll see. It wouldn't go under the Hamrick list. I probably need to unsubscribe this old address since I just keep it to have mail forwarded to the new one. Autumn
I've just been told there will be a Britton family reunion at Camp Caesar (how do you spell Caesar anyways?) in May, the same weekend I'm going to the woodchopping festival. Anyone know exactly where Camp Caesar is anyways? Autumn
Would like to exchange information on Samuel SPRINGER who married Rachel SWISHER 28 Apr 1872 in Webster Co. I have a list of their children and their spouses. I am preparing a book on the descendants of Dennis SPRINGER. Rachel Swisher SPRINGER is a descendant of Dennis SPRINGER, through her mother, but nothing is known of this Samuel SPRINGER. What is his lineage. To what SPRINGER family does Samuel belong? Thank you, Kathleen Rizer
I found Lewis Walker and his children on the Webster County census of 1900 in Glade District. I can't read his birth date information and the last three columns. It appears that these 3 columns deal with occupation, education and something unreadable. I would also like to know what it says in these columns for his 3 oldest children. Is there anyone willing to look at their copy of this census and send me the information? Lewis is listed in Enumeration Dist. No. 135, sheet no. 13B. Lewis is my great grandfather and I have been searching for this information for a long time. Thanks, Cathy
Can anyone help Kathy with directions to or info on this cemetery? Please reply to her at [email protected] Thanks, Lisa Gregory -----Original Message----- There is a cemetery in or near the town of Boggs, in Webster County, called Barnett Run Cemetery. I found Boggs on a map but can't find out where the cemetery is. Do you know? Or can you refer me to anyone else who might? Thanks so very much! Kathy Gaskins

The images are hard to read - I am going to try to transcribe them in the month - I haven't received the template to do it yet - that is all I am waiting on. With the software I have I can manipulate the images and read it a little better than what you see on line - only the first 10 or so pages or bad - BUT, it's better than nothing. The 1910-1920 will be on line soon too since I bought those CDs also. BJ

Greetings all! I have a query with regards to MARY MAGDALENE COOL HOSEY. She married John Hosey in Botetourt Co., VA 11-28-1802. The family came to the Elk area in Nicholas Co. in 1819. One of their children was Mary "Polly" Hosey who married Benjamin COGAR. Does anyone have any information on MARY MAGDALENE COOL HOSEY as far as was she a Cool by maidenhood or a Cool widow; her date of birth/place of birth; children/step-children brought into the union prior to 1803; any knowledge of her parents/siblings? Any guidance or information would be greatly appreciated. Warm regards, Terri Brake-McCourt Hico, West Virginia
