“OBIT. BIG SANDY NEWS. Wednesday, January 13, 1999. MONT WILLIAM BALL 1924-1999. Mont William Ball, 74, of Xenia, Ohio, died Wednesday, January 6 at his residence after an extended illness. Mr. Ball was born Jun 6, 1924 in Fallsburg, Kentucky, a son of the late Blaine and Martha Short Ball. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Taylor and June Woods; and five brothers, Jim, Edward, “Pete”, “Perk” , and Dan Ball. He was a retired technician and model maker in the engineering department for Wright State University, worked for Bowser-Morner Testing Laboratories, worked for Monsanto Chemical Company, and was a Naval Air Force veteran of WWII. Survivors include his wife, Marietta Crase Ball of Xenia; one son, Christopher Ewen (Linda) Ball of Lake Orion, Michigan; two grandsons, Christopher William Ball of Dayton, Ohio, and Jesse Ray Ball of Lake Orion; two sisters, Thelma Roberts and Jacquelyn Ball, both of Louisa; and one brother, Blaine Ball, also of Louisa. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 9 at Neeld Funeral Home, Xenia. Neeld Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.” Beverly L.
