“OBIT. BIG SANDY NEWS. Wednesday, January 13,1999. KARL C. RANKIN 1928-1999. Karl C. Rankin, 70, of Louisa died Monday, January 4 at Three Rivers Medical Center. Mr. Rankin was born August 29, 1928, in Richmond, Kentucky, a son of the late Millard and Ada Martin Rankin. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lewis Rankin and one sister, Thelma Aldridge. He was a retired Florida State Highway Department worker, a retired Air Force veteran and attended the Baptist Faith. Survivors include three daughters, Venda Joyce Pack of Louisa, Vickie Slater of Lansing, Michigan and Eva Markham of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one son, Karl Rankin, Jr., of Salt Lake City, Utah; five sisters, Mildred Petry, and Loretta Rankin, both of Somerset, Kentucky, Rena Burrus of Louisville, Kentucky, Sarah Henderson of Richmond, and Norma Jean Cain of Lexington, Kentucky; two brothers, Roy Rankin of Lecanto, Florida and Joe Rankin of Somerset; and 12 grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, January 8, at Oldham-Roberts-Powell Funeral Home, Richmond. Burial was in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond. Local arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home, Louisa.” Beverly L.
