As to the National Archives and Confederate Records decision, I can report only what has been written recently. In Volume 6 of the 1998 "Confederate Veteran" magazine, the current "SCV" Commander Rick Griffin, reports the following: "As some of you are aware the National Archives is curtailing its service of copying Confederate Records. The serivce is to be continued privately by Broadfoot Publishing Company. Pre- sently all of the Confederate microfilm records are being di- gitized by Tom Broadfoot, and they will be available on a fee basis. It is anticipated that the service wwill take only a few days to two weeks at tthe most." No further information on this project is known at this time. Hope this is of interest to some of you... Fran
