John M. Farra and his wife Mary E. Raines Farra gravestones have been found in Dunlow, Wayne County, WV in the Preston Cemetery. After being lost to the Winfield Washington Farra family (son of John M. and Mary E. Farra) for at least 50 years. The cemetery is about 5 miles north of the Dunlow Volunteer Fire Department on Highway 152. Inscriptions below: JOHN M. FARRA BORN IN Va. OCT. 29. 1825 DIED APR. 17. 1914 Stone still standing in the upper center of the cemetery above a stone mausoleum. MARY E. FARRA BORN IN Va. MAR. 7. 1834 DIED MAR. 27, 1909 Stone foundation no longer existed and the stone itself was lying face up on the ground beside John M. Farra's grave. There were no cracks on it at all. I stood her stone up and leaned it against the back of John's stone. Both stones were very clearly and professionally carved deep and very legible. My family plans to reset her stone to stand beside her husband, and decorate the graves. I have digital pictures of them is anyone needs them.
