The Crabtree Family, part I In 1850, Solomon Crabtree was a farmner worth $400. He was born in 1779. His wife, Susan Thompson Crabtree, was born in 1780. Solomon Crabtree was the father of Hiram Crabtree. Hiram was born in 1810, and was a farmer worth $300. He married Eveline Short, who was born in 1815. Together, the couple had six children. 1. Solomon, born in 1834. 2. Rebecca, born in 1837. 3. Samuel, birthdate unknown. 4. Mary A., born 1841. 5. Hiram, born 1846. 6. Caroline, born 1849. Wesley Crabtree, born in 1812, was also a farmer. He married Nancy Ball, the daughter of' Robin Ball and granddaughter of James and Sarah Mounts Wilson. Nancy was born on Nov. 25, 1812. The couple had seven children. 1. Solomon, born in 1839. 2. Eliza, born in 1840. 3. Isaiah, born in 1842. 4. Surrilda, born in 1843. 5. Polly, born in 1845. 6. Rebecca, born in 1847. 7. Wesley, born in 1849. These people lived in the vicinity of Tabors Creek Baptist Church. In 1880, Hiram Crabtree was 71 years old and Eviline was 66, and still kept house, apparently in good health." Beverly L.
