I have no idea where the Muncy family originated. My grandfather Compton was born in Lawrence County, KY and married first to Georgia Vaughn. They had four children. After Georgia's death he remarried (Wayne Co., WV) to Victoria Vinson, a lady (according to the marriage certificate) previously married also. Their three daughters were Isabelle Compton, b. 1895; Nora Compton, b.Nov. 1897; and Mary Compton, b. 18 Jan 1900. I know nothing about Isabelle and only that Mary married someone by the name of McGuire and Nora married a Muncey (or Muncy). I noticed a store across the street from the Lawrence County Courthouse in Louisa that had the name Muncy on it.
