    3. In an earlier roll call post, I wrote: JOHN BARTUM WELLMAN (b 12/24/1872 d 4/1971) my great-grandfather married LYDIA (or Lida) WOOD (b?/d abt. 1910). I would like to find out the marriage date of my great-grandparents and also any info concerning Lydia (Lida)'s death. I made a mistake.... JOHN BARTUM WELLMAN married a Lydia or Lida alright but she was a JORDAN or JOURDAN, not a WOOD. LYDIA WOOD is my other greatgrandma. I got my Lydias mixed up. Sorry. Clyde

    3. WELLMAN-WOOD-BEARE (or variation of) - JARRELL are the surnames I am researching in Wayne Co. and the immediate surrounding counties. JOHN BARTUM WELLMAN (b 12/24/1872 d 4/1971) my great-grandfather married LYDIA (or Lida) WOOD (b?/d abt. 1910). I would like to find out the marriage date of my great-grandparents and also any info concerning Lydia (Lida)'s death. Also, it is said JOHN BARTUM WELLMAN had several other wives. Any info on these other marriages will be appreciated. ALBERT WELLMAN (b.abt. 1848-1850 d. ?) married RACHELL JARRELL (b 8/1/1852 d 7/17/1933) 6/18/1868. It is said Albert was a Sheriff in Wayne Co. RACHELL JARRELL'S father is JOHN E. JARRELL.. Was he a minister in Wayne Co. And who was Rachell's mother. Does any one have information of a Reverend J. FLOYD BEARE?

    2. Lynda Davis-Logan
    3. Hi, there Jim, What line of Perdues and Millers are you researching? My Perdue line comes in from Jemimah Perdue who m. Peter Blankenship, Jr. She was the daughter of Josiah/Isaiah Perdue. Not sure which and don't have too much information on that side of the family. My Blankenships settled over on Millers Fork in Wayne County. Not sure where that Miller name comes from, but do know that one of my James Asher Crockett's daughters - Charlotte m. Edward Miller. I also think that another daughter - Mary Crockett may have m. a William Miller. Any connections or thoughts?? 1. Roll Call-THOMPSON,BALL,WILSON,JARRELL,MCCORMICK
    2. Glen Gallagher
    3. My families of interest around Wayne County are: THOMPSON, BALL, WILSON, JARRELL, MCCORMICK, BARTRAM, and some others. Also I finally "got a round tuit" and added more detail to my web site which you might want to check out if you're connected to the above families. What I did is convert most of my ancestry to GED format, and then convert all that into HTML presentation. So now if you're interested you can see the names and vital information on all my ancestors -- the Wayne County ones as well as all the rest. If you want to see that information, go to my web page address below and follow the "SURNAMES" links on my home page. 1. Land Maps
    2. This came from another list and might interest those of you with ancestors in TX, VA, or the NE state Fran Namotka The LDS has made available on microfiche the holdings of the Library of Congress collection of pre-20th century land ownership maps. This set contains 1449 county maps relating to 1041 counties, concentrate mostly in the Northeast and North Central states, and VA, CA and TX. Approximately one-third of all US counties are represented in the collection. The great majority of the maps were prepared between 1840 and 1900. Many of the maps contain sketches of homesteads and family members around the margins, some have portions of wills and heir information (incl: the married names of daughters), and the progression of land ownership over the years. A few contain Indexes.. The fiche begin with number 6079238, and run through to 6081181. A listing can be found in the LDS catalogue under United States-Maps, and under United States-Land and Property. Previously, copies of these maps were available throught the Library of Congress for between $50 and $75 EACH. Now, you can xerox them from the 15 cent fiche.... > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
