I don't know of Howell's in my family, but my father was born in Upshur County, last name of Rowan. Do you have much info on the Rowan's. I am just beginning this journey and have very little info except that my great grandfather was John Wesley Rowan, and I believe that my grandfather was born in Elkins area, then moved to Buchannon.
