Hi, This is my favorite county to research and I'm glad it is finally on rootsweb. I'm researching the families of GOODWIN, TENNEY, ROHRBOUGH, WINGFIELD, CLARK, TAYLOR that were in Upshur county and the edge of Randolph at the time it was formed. The GOODWIN/TAYLORS were living around the Queens area and TAYLORS were near there and Hemlock. My husbands grandparents, Oscar Benson GOODWIN and Nettie Blaine TAYLOR were married 28 October 1894 in Upshur County, West Virginia. A copy of their marriage certificate reveals they were married in the middle of the road near Mt. Olive Church by A. Low. Is this a Methodist church? Oscar was the son of William and Matilda TENNEY GOODWIN and Nettie was the daughter of Valentine and Lucy WINGFIELD TAYLOR. Valentine Taylor's mother Nancy DAVIS TAYLOR died 20 July 1908, and is buried on the old Hammon J. TAYLOR farm. This I found in the book "Cemeteries of Upshur County, West Virginia, Washington Dist" pg 119. Does anyone know who owns this farm today? We've been to Upshur a couple of times and would like to visit her grave. ( we live in Oklahoma) I'd like to be in touch with descendants of these families and share some of the information I've worked on the last 20 years. Rita Goodwin
