    3. Anyone have a missing Henry Zickefoose? I found this family group in the 1900 census of Upshur County, WV -- anyone know who this Zickefoose is? Alfred Gillum head White Male Sep. 1845 54 Widowed VA VA VA farmer ? T border White Male Dec. 1855 44 Widowed VA VA VA <illegible> saw mill 3 (no. of children living) (All three can read and write.) A quick note on Alfred above, the no. of children living is very faint -- it looks like a "?" although it could be a "5." So far, I only have four children for him, unless you count the adoption of Henry Zickefoose. Joseph Bowers is Alfred's nephew. -Nicole nicolecastle@mindspring.com http://www.mindspring.com/~nicolecastle/

    3. I have the following information on Minnie Merle Colerider and her immediate family entered in my genealogy program. I have tried to document my sources carefully, so I have included my sources along with this information; the source is listed first with all information from that source listed under it: John R. Rohrbach (Rohrabaugh) 1728-1821 Descendants and Marriage Connections by James D. Rorabaugh, published by McClain Printing Company, Parsons, WV,1966, p. 90; a note in the text states that the following information was supplied by Mrs. Byrd Cutright, P.O. Box 1026, Titusville, Florida: Minnie Merle Colrider was born 15 Jan 1886 to Marie Alice Rohrbough and her husband Will A. Colrider Minnie Merle Colrider married Elliot Talbott on 20 Jun 1906, their children are Arthur Lowell Talbott and Stanley Talbott Minnie Merle Colrider Talbott married Arthur Newton Smith on 15 Jul 1918, their children are Alice Anne Smith, Virginia Smith and Evylyn Smith Upshur County West Virginia Births 1853-1897 by Billie Faye Drost and Karon Janel King, published by Heritage Books, Inc., Bowie, MD, 1993, p. 156: Minnie Merle Colerider was born 15 Jan 1886 in Upshur Co., WV to Wm. Andrew & Mary Alice Rohrbough, this entry can be found in the Upshur Co. Birth Book at Delayed Birth Book 31 1900 Census of Upshur County West Virginia, compiled by Lemoyne Wolfe & Karon King, published by Wedgewood Publishing Co., Fork Union, VA, 1996, p. 112, entry 144-146: Merle Colerider, daughter of William Colerider was born Jan 1886 and was living in William's household with him and Allie M., Ray and Annie Colerider at time of 1900 Census Meade District Cemetery Readings, Revised Edition 1994, compiled by the Upshur County Genealogical Society, now distributed by the Upshur County Historical Society, P.O. Box 2082, Buckhannon, WV 26201: Merle Colerider Smith, Jan 15, 1886-Jan 12 1981, buried in French Creek Cemetery, Meade District, Upshur Co., WV I hope that this information helps any of you who are researching the Rohrbough, Colerider, Talbott and Tenney lines. I would appreciate any additional information that any of you have on this family, especially dates of birth, death, places of residence, etc. for Minnie's children and husbands. There is an Arthur Smith 1865-1947 listed next to Minnie Merle Colerider Smith in the Meade District Cemetery Readings; I suspect that this might be Minnie's second husband, but don't have enough information to verify this. Does anyone else? I have spent quite a bit of time in the Upshur Co. courthouse doing research on anyone descended from James and Thankful Tenney of Upshur Co., which includes the Rohrbough and Westfall families among others. I will be more than happy to share this information with anyone who can use it. I also have death certificate copies for several Tenney descendants and am willing to provide information from them. My great-great grandparents are Samuel and Dorcas (nee Rohrbough) Tenney of Upshur Co. -----Original Message----- From: jaxpcs [mailto:jaxpcs@alltel.net] Sent: Thursday, January 14, 1999 8:22 PM To: WVUPSHUR-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [WVUPSHUR-L] French Creek Coleriders and Talbotts Looking for information on: Ggrandfather Elliot Lowell Talbott, Ggrandmother Minnie Merle Colerider Talbott. 3. Jack M. Van Kirk <jack.vankirk@cwix.com> > Anna Bozarth(daughter of George Isaac Bozarth and Mary Reger). Do you 110 YEARS AGO The settlements in the vicinity of the present town in Buckhannon in the year 1770 were about as follows: Samuel Pringle, John Pringle, William Pringle, John Cutright and Samuel Oliver lived on Cutrights run, a branch of Buckhannon river, three or four miles above where the town of Buckhannon is now situated. Thomas Carney, Zacharias Westfall and George Casto resided on Stony run, about two miles above town, Joel Westfall on the West side of the river, below Radcliffs run; Abraham Carper still lower down in the bend of the river, on the farm now owned by Levi Leonard, Jacob Brake lived below the mouth of Finks run, where Daniel Carper now resides Henry Jackson where the old fort had been in 1780, about one and a half miles below town, Edward Jackson where the town is now situated; Jacob Hyre, on Finks run, and had a little mill where William D. Farnsworth now resides; -- Allman, Jacob Lorentz, ***George Bozarth lived higher up on Finks run; John Hyre, Philip Reger, John Tingle, Jacob Schoolcraft, Leonard Simon and Solomon Collins on the Brushy fork of Finks run Jacob Post on the east side of the run above the mouth of Little Sand run, where Isaac Strader now lives; John Strader, John and Abram Crites, Abraham Post John Jackson, Anthony Rohrbough and George Bush still lower down, farms adjoining each other, Joseph Davis on the west side of the river near the mouth of Turkey run, where Adam Carper now resides; David Casto lived over the ridge, where one of his sons has since resided. The persons here mentioned composed almost the entire community at that day, and all have long since passed away, and their lands, as a natural consequence, have passed into other hands. One generation passes away, and another takes its place. Upshur County, West Virginia Hardesty's Guide of 1883, pp. 117-122 I've put astrisks by George Bozarth. There is a lot of info on early families. The entire 117-122 is transcribed on my web pages. There are a number of Clark marriages amongst those listed there. PLEASE direct your replies to their addresses below. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vicki, Those names sound familiar, as my Clarks were in Upshur a little bit, but more in Lewis County. I may descend from Robert Manly Clark and Anna Bozarth(daughter of George Isaac Bozarth and Mary Reger). Do you know of this family? My GGG grandfather, Lennox Clark m. Caroline Johnson in Lewis County in 1853. He is thought to be the same person as Robert and Anna Clark's son Alpheus, as the two were born in the same year, and my Lennox Clark had a grandson named Alpheus/Alpious. Can you help confirm this? I would love to definitely connect to this family. One of my grandmother Clark's last wishes was for me to trace her family, and she's been dead over a year. I would really like to find out for sure where mine came from. Thanks so much, Jack M. Van Kirk <jack.vankirk@cwix.com> From: Vicki and Kerry [SMTP:kbruce@accesstoledo.com]
