Jean Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have Ankroms all over, but not in my direct line. I took a little time to visit WV this summer, and made a pilgrimage to the village of Wick in Tyler Co. to visit the grave of my g-g-g grandfather, David Garrison, in the cemetery at the Methodist Church. There is a large Ankrom plot there, as you may know. Andrew Ankrom's marker is large enough to suggest that he may have been a pretty successful farmer. Elizabeth Garrison Ankrom is buried in the same cemetery, but not in the same plot as her husband, who remarried. I encounter the Ankrom surname frequently when researching Greene Co., PA and Frederick Co., MD, where I also find frequents references to the somehow related Ducketts.
