I'm descended from David Garrison, who lived near Wick in Tyler County from 1860 until his death in 1878. His father was Leonard Garrison of Greene Co., PA. David's wife was Catharine Engle, daughter of Peter Engle, from Germany, Frederick Co., MD, and Greene Co., PA. David and Catharine are buried in the cemetery behinf the United Methodist Church in the village of Wick. Their daughter Elizabeth was the first wife of andrew J. Ankrom, son of Nelson Thomas Ankrom. Their son Daniel married Elizabeth Hickman, and moved to Ritchie County. David & Catharine's son David married Hannah Bullman, daughter of Andrew & Mary A. Bullman. Their son John D. Garrison married Drusilla Cornell, daughter of Aaron Cornell & Rebecca Long. Their son Irad married Sarah Ellen Ash, daughter of Peter Ash & Elizabeth. My great-aunt Mildred Garrison Kinnan of Morgantown just wrote a letter in which she describes Irad Garrison's bewilderment at indoor plumbing. Irad was a Civil War vet, and had never seen a flush toilet until shortly before his death in 1918, when my Aunt Mildred was a young child.
