If anyone has census records for Tyler County, could some please look and see if there is an Oliver Perry Thomas born abt 1833 in Jackson Co, he is my g.g.grandfather, he married Sarah Catherine Boggess in 1858 in Jackson co. and they lived in Jackson, for a while, and also in Poca district of Kanawha, but I can't find him in 1880 anywhere. So if someone could help me I sure would appreciate it, oh, his father was George Thomas, let me know if there is a George Thomas also, thank you.

Hello, list. I am new to the list. My primary problem is to find the parents of Thomas Weakley, born 1754 in Frederick County, MD. Married to Rachel. Revolutionary War veteran. Suspect he is the brother of James Weakley, born 1751 and resided in Frederick County, MD (same place as Thomas). Thomas migrated to Washington County PA in 1781, and then to Tyler County in 1798. James migrated to Ohio about 1800, and many members of his family moved on to Illinois. Can find no record of their parents, or any earlier family. Jacob Weakley, of Shenendoah County, VA, moved to Tyler County about 1810 and settled about ten miles from Thomas. Suspect relationship, but unable to prove one. Know a good bit about Jacob's family in VA. Does anyone know about Jacob's family in Tyler County? Well, good hunting, everyone. Dave Weekley Christina Hunt wrote: > Hi there! Still looking for the Bullman clan. Still do not know where and exactly when John Bullman arrived in Tyler. Married there in 1811. He was educated and in the 1850 census said born in New Jersey. Not been able to find him there. Does anyone know of any traditions about him as those have not been passed down, makes one wonder if he was one who ran off to the frontier and changed his name, etc. for one reason or another. Jean
Searching for what happened to my Beaty family. Lindsay Columbus Beaty born abt. 1852 died sometime after 1882 in Tyler Co. Married Florence Elizabeth Wilson born abt. 1862 died sometime after Feb. 1852. I have a picture of Florence dated Feb. 11, 1952. Children that I know of are: Eli Washington Beaty born abt 1878, William Worthington Beaty (my g-grandfather) born May 1880, and Rosy Mae Beaty born Sep. 1882 died Dec. 1882 of pneumonia. The family is listed in the 1880 Census in Tyler Co. with only Eli as the child in the household. 1900 Census they can't be found in Tyler or Hancock. They aren't listed in the census soundex. The census of 1910 and 1920 in Hancock Co. shows William married to Cora Adelia Blair born 1889 (born in Wetzel Co.). Eli W. is listed in Tyler Co. married to Anna. According to my Aunt (daughter of William). His father died when he was 15, abt. 1895. Can't find out where he died and is buried or how. According to my mother it was sudden and under unusual circumstances. I've recently met a distant cousin on the Blair side who I found on the Wetzel Co. GenWeb Page who was kind enough to share much detailed information with me. Would appreciate any information on any of these families. Thanks for any help. Faith A. Van Schaik

Hi, I'm not really new to the list but I'm still searching for my family there. I'm looking for Thomas Baylis (many different spellings for the surname) who was born between 1815-1823. He married Eliza Huggins. I have found Eliza's family but can't find anything on Thomas' family. I know after 1850-1870 I have found them in the Marshall County Census. But thier one daughter always said she was born in Tyler/Wetzel County. She was born in 1855. Thomas died between 1870 and 1880 but the place is unknown. Eliza was in the 1880 census as a widow in the 1880 census. Eliza died in 1919 but this is also unknown of her place of death. It would be greatly appreceiated if I can find anything on them.
