    2. He is a cousin, of sorts. My line is from John, b 1754 who was born in PA, died in WV, and then the line goes through John's son, Martin, who moved to Ohio, Illinois, Indiana. I have some info on Abraham, but I will have to get it out. 3. I have checked FindAGrave with no success. I have found death records circa 1900 for several Dubyak children while the family was living in Thomas. The Dubyak & Guzanich families were both immigrant families from what is now Slovakia. They became coal miners and were probably quite poor. It is possible that any burials may not have gravestones due to the cost. So... I think I will have to see if there are any sexton or coal company records that might make mention of deaths. -----Original Message----- From: wvtucker-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:wvtucker-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of lharlow1@woh.rr.com Sent: Tuesday, July 31, 2012 4:22 AM To: wvtucker@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVTUCKER] 1905 Fire in Thomas have you checked FindAGrave.com -------------------------------------------------- From: "Gary Darnsteadt" <darnsga@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, July 30, 2012 11:15 PM To: <wvtucker@rootsweb.com> Subject: Re: [WVTUCKER] 1905 Fire in Thomas > Ray, > > Thanks for looking. 3. Ray, Thanks for looking. I am assuming at this point that perhaps the fire was limited to a single home and was not reported. I am basing the fire theory on a statement that Wash Dubyak made to a court in Pittsburgh where he was requesting a duplicate copy of his naturalization documents and indicated that the originals were lost in a fire in 1905 in Thomas. I will be visiting the Thomas area this coming Thanksgiving and will visit the local cemetery. Not sure it there is more than one.
