Check out this really cool site where people are helping people with genealogy all across the U.S..... Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness. Someone is helping me by going to the graveyard where my ancestor is buried in Iowa to take a picture of the tombstone. I live in Georgia, so would likely never have gotten there. I will now volunteer under the project to help people with Georgia info in my county. http://raogk.rootsweb.com/ __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Thanks for responding. Where did you get the info on the marriage? Dora Alice Smyth is my great grandmother and she was married to Henry Moran, my great grandfather. I've noticed that Moran and Morgan get interchanged alot. However, there may have been another marriage I am not aware of. cindy __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Hello listers, Do any of you folks have Arble ancestors? David Arble/Arbel (b. June 2, 1841) is shown in the 1870 Taylor Co. census and again in the 1880 Preston Co. census with 5 children - John H., Lucius W., Clara Bell, Charley C., and Sylvanus. His wife was Lamanda Annon. I am quite willing to share what I have on this family going back to about 1766. Regards Marci O'Malley Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. USA mho788@nwu.edu

Received this on a mail list today! I thought you might wish to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has placed the fully-searchable Pedigree Resource File (PRF) online at the FamilySearch website http://www.familysearch.org As you know, these represent unlinked pedigrees submitted by individuals through the FamilySearch.org web site. The Pedigree Resource File entries appear as integrated results from the main search page, along with applicable IGI and Ancestral File entries, on the "Search Results" page. Although individual records show parentage and spouses (where available), as yet there is no pedigree function, i.e., there is no way to graphically show ancestry for an individual as is the case with Ancestral File. I checked the site and found my own file, submitted in August, integrated into the Pedigree Resource File. Sincerely, Cole Goodwin Family History Consultant I will be updating the FAQ shortly regarding this, so it will have this as part of the page about PRF. The PRF FAQ is at http://members.tripod.com/~Genealogy_Infocenter/prf-cds.html
Hello, I am looking for the parents of William Rogers who was born around 1763, I do not know where. His daughter Catherine maried Benjamin Matthews 31 Aug. 1830. I have been told that William was Sheriff of Taylor Co. at one time, but do not know if this is true. He must be connected somehow with a Jacob Rogers as Jacob went surety on Catherine's marriage bond. Thank you. Jean
Hello, I am looking for information on Jeremiah Bircher, born in Preston County, to Matthew and Nancy Bircher. After being widowed, he married a Lucinda Holt in 1875. They may have lived in Harrison County and possibly moved to Ohio for some time. Would appreciate any information on Lucinda. Thanks again. Becky Boggs
Subject: BIRCHER/HOLT/HAMRICK/NEWLON Hello, I am searching for information on Jeremiah (Jerry) Bircher, born in Preston County, the son of Matthew and Nancy Bircher. In 1875 he married a Lucinda Holt. At that time he was 36 and a widower. His first wife's name was Sarah, but not completely sure if her last name was Hamrick or Newlon. Family records have shown it to be Hamrick but census reports show a Jeremiah Bircher married to Sarah Newlon from eastern Virginia. One of his children, Elizabeth, married John Shingleton in 1903. They lived in Grafton. Thank you.
Hello Again, I had the year of the death incorrect. It should have been 1956. Hello, I am new to the list and am trying to locate any information about a Mrs. Elizabeth Shingleton. She was listed as a half-sister to my ggrandmother, Ida Bell (Bircher) Ruckman, in my ggrandmother's obituary. The only information I have is her name and that she was living in Grafton at the time of Ida Bell's death in 1954. If anyone knows anything about this Shingleton family, I would really be happy to hear from them. Thank you!, Becky Boggs
