My line is from Eli & Elizabeth Garten Ballengee's daughter, Mary Jane Ballengee Tomlinson, of Monroe County, WV. (also Summers Co). Mary Jane married James W. Tomlinson, Monroe Co., WV, 10 10 1867. Near as I can guess, their only child was my maternal grandmother, Oritia Ella Tomlinson. 1870 census has Mary J and Oritia E. living with the maternal grandparents, the Gartens, with no mention of James Tomlinson. Split-up/died ??? Mary J and Oritia disappear until 1892, when Oritia signed on in the marriage book of Summers Co., WV with Joseph B. Blanchard, of Gates Co., NC, 0n 9 29 1892. Never located Mary after 1870. J B Blanchard was my maternal grandfather. I've got all that info.
