The court house and post office share a "block". The 3 streets that surround it are Ballengee, 2nd Ave., and James St. You have to go by it to get from the area of Avis and Belle Point to the "west side" and Summers and Temple Streets and "down town". If you're coming from Blue Stone, go right across the Greenbrier River bridge (you'll see the state trooper barracks at the turn). You can't turn left so just look for the first right you can make after you've gone by the dam. When you get to the stop sign after crossing the bridge you will veer left. If you go right you'll be in Belle Point and going to Talcott and Alderson. Go past McDonalds, the "high rise" (senior living complex), the Kroger, and the Magic Mart. The road splits and you can only go to the right, at the gas station. Go up this street (one way) to the only stop sign on it and turn right and go over the new bridge that crosses the rail road tracks (Dollar General is at that corner). You'll see the old! Avis bridge next to it. This is James St. You'll go up and by the elementary school, and about 1/8th of a mile up the street you'll come into "town". You'll be on the backside of the courthouse. Go around the block to 2nd Ave. and turn left. At the stop, Ballengee St., turn left again and this will take you to the front of the post office and then the court house itself. If you can't find parking in front just continue around to the stop sign and go left to Hill St. Your car is safe there. When you walk in the front doors, go down the corridor to the last door on the right hand side, the county clerks office. Just say "Hi" to Mary Beth and the girls, go left by the counter to the records room door and start your work. Have a good time! Cindy
