Thanks Cindy, I didn't get a chance last night to look up the information to give her. I had a sick cat which tied me all evening after getting out of the vets office. Cindy, I think I will be able to get the information that I need looked up to you this evening. I have my homework done for class and can put that on line as well. I can than breath til the Quiz is on line Wedenday evening. I don't need documents, just looks up. I have to break it down to Summers County. Thanks for doing this for me. I just haven't been able to get up there for reseach. When it is something that I can narrow down to a general month and year, I do give them call them and they will look it up for me. There were some that you years from Census Records and they were not able to do a quick check and find them for that year. It is the Moten line that has given me fits, but it is slowly coming together. But I have other checks as well. Court House The court house and post office share a "block". The 3 streets that surround it are Ballengee, 2nd Ave., and James St. You have to go by it to get from the area of Avis and Belle Point to the "west side" and Summers and Temple Streets and "down town". If you're coming from Blue Stone, go right across the Greenbrier River bridge (you'll see the state trooper barracks at the turn). You can't turn left so just look for the first right you can make after you've gone by the dam. When you get to the stop sign after crossing the bridge you will veer left. If you go right you'll be in Belle Point and going to Talcott and Alderson. Go past McDonalds, the "high rise" (senior living complex), the Kroger, and the Magic Mart. The road splits and you can only go to the right, at the gas station. Go up this street (one way) to the only stop sign on it and turn right and go over the new bridge that crosses the rail road tracks (Dollar General is at that corner). You'll see the old! Avis bridge next to it. This is James St. You'll go up and by the elementary school, and about 1/8th of a mile up the street you'll come into "town". You'll be on the backside of the courthouse. Go around the block to 2nd Ave. and turn left. At the stop, Ballengee St., turn left again and this will take you to the front of the post office and then the court house itself. If you can't find parking in front just continue around to the stop sign and go left to Hill St. Your car is safe there. When you walk in the front doors, go down the corridor to the last door on the right hand side, the county clerks office. Just say "Hi" to Mary Beth and the girls, go left by the counter to the records room door and start your work. Have a good time!
