    3. Hi Richard I didn't realize that you were in Missouri. Here I was thinking about taking a trip to West Virginia this Summer between classes and you won't be there. Not sure if I would have time to come that way. Hopefully there will be no hurricane around this years, but that might give me an excuse to go. No more of hiding in the hall way. Although the new apartment had a center room that has no windows, etc. But I am not crazy about staying there - last year the appartment building that I am in lost some of the roofing. But being on the ground floor that should not hurt me. Just the upstairs. Now I will have to figure some way to get to you. Was hoping to find Great Aunt Winnie husband information this summers. Plus a few other in Summers County. Aunt Winnie husband was found died in their house. He drank will too much. This was to be in the 30s. According to what mom remembers he was so pickled from the drink that they could not embomb him. Grandda had to rub some palms in order to take him to the Ohio family plot that he wanted be buried in. Aunt Winnie was buried in Hinton if I remember right. Don't seem to be a record of this, need to go thru the records myself and thanks to the new law I can no longer go to the Funeral Home and ask questions. Oh Well, need to do some leg work - Have to find out where they were married, etc. There some others that I need to locate as well and the only way is to go to the source. Might find it better in the County Seat in Hinton than go to the Charleston. Sometime records did not make it there. Like I was Charleston did not have a record of my birth and I had to get a delay birth certificate. It was a pain, but my cousin said he found in the county courthouse. Interesting. It would add a lot of insight on (W)Virginig life and I think they would display them at the old log house. You may want to think about it and give them a call. I, for one, would enjoy seeing them. > Cindy > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Richard Graham > To: [email protected] > Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 7:14 AM > Subject: Re: [WVSUMMER] Vale, WV > > > I been enjoying reading your alls post on old times in West Virginia, I > guess that's one reason my Graham's left their many years ago for Illinois, > to maybe better them selves and then ran into hardships of being on outer > fringes of civilization at the time they left the Hinton , Talcott, Lowell, > area in 1836, I have some old letter's from that area written about the > living condition at that time in West Virginia, anyway thanks for > writing,,,,,, > Richard Graham > > > ============================== > Find your ancestors in the Birth, Marriage and Death Records.
