    3. Anita, You might try stopping by Ron Meadows funeral home there on Temple St. to see if they would have the location of the graves for you. The people there have always been very friendly and helpful when I've gone in. Good luck!! 3. Hi Maggie, Don't find Lewis in the cemetery book. I've looked through the "Summers County, WV Death Records, 1872-1890" by Pauline Haga and only found the following as far as YOUNGS go: YOUNG, Lucy; w; female; d: 30 Mar 1885 at Summers Co.; no cause of death given; age 40y 10m 6d; wife of C. R. Young; d/o J. D. Clifford YOUNG, Frank; w; male; d: Oct 1890 at Summers Co.; died of Croup; age 4y 8m; son of C. R. & A. E. Young; born at Summers Co., Informant: C. R. Young and daughter of John F. & Sallie Lowe; b in 1879 YOUNG, Nelson; d: 03 Mar 1899; age 2y; died of Scarlet Fever; s/o James W. & Alice Young; was born 27 May 1896 No JUNG family in any of the books. 1. Re: [WVSUMMER] CEMETERY LOOK-UP

    3. Sorry Janet, Beg to differ. There are 6 James Martin's in the cemetery book. (1) James: b: 29 Sep 1950; d: 29 Feb 1952; burial at Breen Cemetery (2) James A.; b: u/k; d: u/k; burial at Cook Cemetery; Headstone notation: Co B 23 VA Inf (3) James H.; b: 1870; d: 1950; burial at Elton Cemetery (4) James H.; b: 04 Apr 1836; d: 02 Jul 1901; burial at Halidon (the death date is wrong for this James, see below) (5) James L.; b: 23 Nov 1865; d: 28 Jun 1925; burial at Cook cemetery (6) James Otis; b: 12 Nov 1924; d: 02 Apr 1990; burial at Halidon Cemetery. James Henderson Martin was the son of Shad & Elizabeth and was married to #1: Elizabeth Fox and #2: Delilah Lowe-Newcomb (she and James married on 20 Mar 1902 in Summers). She had 5 children with her first husband, Robert Newcomb (John W., Martha F., Emily Alice "Emma", James R. and Rosa E.), no children with James. James' only living child was Louisa B. Martin-Marion, my great-great grandmother. Elizabeth and Delilah share a headstone at the Halidon cemetery (Delilah isn't listed in the Summers Co. cemetery book but if you see Betsy's headstone and look at the back it's right there.) Delilah was born 17 Jan 1847 and died 22 Jan 1913 in Green Sulphur. The reason I know that James didn't die in 1901 (the date listed in the cemetery book is Elizabeth's death) is that in the 1910 census he is listed: Summers Co., WV, Green Sulphur Dist., pg 194b, #132/133, age 73, married 8 years, Farmer (Delilah is in household with him) and in the 1920 census he's listed: Summers Co., WV, Green Sulphur Precinct, pg 172a, #33/31, age 82, Widowed, Farmer with his step-daughter, Emma, age 41y. She never married but did have a daughter, Mary. She died 29 February 1940 of Influenza and is also buried at Halidon. She's living with Mary and her husband in the 1930 census and there is no mention of James anywhere in the census. I would love to find out exactly when he died as he was CSA and is "entitled" to a headstone. Just know it was between 1920 & 1930 sometime. Thanks! 3. I have a Corneilus Young, no dates or who he md. His son JOhn Young, b 1821, Craig Co., VA. and died 10 Jul 1900 Summers Co., WV. 3. I have to agree with Dean. When I have been there it is well kept compare to other cemeteries. I am not crazy about mine grandparents were buried, but the first place was where they wanted to be. Than mine aunt had them moved because mine brother and sister could not get up there all the time to take care of the cemetery that was out in a pasture and we could not find out who was suppose to be taking care of it. So your relatives are in a much better place. John and Allie Persinger moved to Fayette County between 1900 and 1908. I have found some info that John Thomas may have been from Summers County. Thanks much. What Wickline's are you look for and when I get home from work I will look in mine paperwork and see if I have any of them. I will be going to West Virginia in the fall - I will be up in that area doing research because most of mine relative up in that area was in Summers and Mercer County. I have not been for a while so I will have to do mine research while I am there. Mine sister and brother live in Fayette County and down below Charleston. I am the only researcher in the family. To get to it, first go to Hinton, then cross the bridge on Temple St (Rt 20) and when you get to the other side of the river, turn right (20 continues to the left). Go a short ways, maybe 1/4 mile to Madam Creek Rd, and turn left. Head up Madam Creek about 1 mile, and you'll see a sign for Restwood on the right, at county road 4/1. It's a big cemetery, so the challenge is to find where their graves are. If you go on a weekday, maybe the office can help you. 3. You got good directions to the cemetery. I have family from both sides buried there and the cemetery has always been well maintained.

    2. Hi, If you go to free site Find A Grave - _http://www.findagrave.com/_ (http://www.findagrave.com/) and than look up Restwood Cemetery in Summers County, WV - _http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=79667&CScntry=4&CSst=52&CScnty=3108&CSsr=81_ (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=79667&CScntry=4&CSst=52&CScnty=3108&CSsr=81) & you can get directions and GPS data, There are 55 listings for Restwood - that does not mean it is a complete list. Think about adding your ancestors and pictures of their stone. At the Find A Grave site you can make request to have photos taken - does not mean someone will take the picture for you. I volunteer for the cemeteries where I live - this gives me practice finding and photographing tombstones.
