    3. Hi Gaye Your name sounds familiar to me. I believe someone I corresponded with on some of my research mentioned your name. There's no need for you to send me the census record, thanks for the offer. I understand completely about doing lookups also. I try to help others a lot too. I believe Nannie Martin to be the d/o Albert and Sarah Adkins Harrow/Harrah. I'm having a hard time finding Albert's and Sarah's sons after 1920. Can't believe they all of them disappeared after that census. Thanks again Sherranlynn

    3. Hello Vernon & List - First, thanks Vernon for the information on the burial information for Mary R., Henry & John R. Hobbs in Hilltop Cem. Knowing that Henry died in 1917 means that maybe, just maybe, he'll have a WV State death certificate, and maybe, [Oh, let there be a miracle!!!] it will have his mother's maiden name on it..... John R. was one of Henry's sons. I'm out in California, so I'm limited to what the FHL has microfilmed so far for Summers County. That's been the actual courthouse records for the death, birth & marriage records for the period of time and Pauline Haga's book on the Hinton Daily News. I'm in California, so a quick trip to the Hinton Library or Hilltop Cemetery isn't really an option right now. (Maybe, with some financial luck, it will be next summer, but I'm not counting on it.) Is the cemetery book still for sale? If not, could someone do some look-ups for me? Same with the newspaper. Anyone know of any link between "my" Henry/John Hobbs families and the family of a James H. Hobbs (m. Eliza Foster); he was a contemporary of Henry's (1880 or so on) and worked in Hinton as a carpenter and constable, later appeared to have been a rather affluent farmer. Several of his children appeared to have stayed in the area, involved with the police and teaching. Thank you all! Alison

    1. DUBOIS - COX

    3. Janni I have Julia Dubois's sister as Sarah, who marr. John Keller, so their parents, in my records, are John DUBOIS and Elizabeth JANSEN marr. Oct 16, 1770 in NY, where elizabeth was from. Also, I am interested in more information on Jacob DUBOIS and Ann DICKINSON. When and where did they marry? Do you have any other children listed for them? The only Jacob DUBOIS I have in my files marr. Elizabeth HILL, a widow, marr. Sep 08, 1812 in Kanawha Co. I think the marriage record of your Sarah Dubois says she is the d/o John. But I would have to look it up now, to be certain, but I have a note in my records saying that. They were married on 1/22/1811 Monroe Co. as you also have it. I have this note in my file, but not sure who sent it to me: John Deboy's will, voucher statements, and deeds all indicating his heirs are as follows with the various spellimgs: Magdline, Mary and Polly Cook widow of William Cook Conrad Deboy/Deboie Elizabeth Showen/Showan Uley/ Julie, and John Cox Sarah Keller Jacob Beboy Abraham Deboy Caty, Catherine Inchminger/Ensminger, Wife of Anthony Elizabeth Deboy- His wife John Deboy was appointed guardian of Christian's children. The first record of this is dated 19 April 1808. It appears this was done so that he could buy land for Christain's heirs . On this date he bought land from Henry Magnett. Recorded in Monroe County Deed Book B-490-491-492. Age of Children: Elizabeth 10, Catherine 9 and Julie ?. Christain's heirs sold this land on 15 August 1820, Deed Book G-257. John did not mention Christain's children in his will. Could he have been disappointed that they sold their property? It bordered his land. Children of JOHN DEBOY and ELIZABETH ? are: 2. i. CHRISTAIN ( CHRISTLEY)2 DEBOY, b. Bet. 1765 - 1776, Monroe County, VA; d. November 1801, Monroe County, VA. 3. ii. CONRAD DEBOY, b. 1776, Monroe County, VA; d.
