    3. Hi John, There is a John Meador buried in the Ellison Cemetery. It doesn't show a middle name, nor a birth or death date. Under remarks is says "Faded Funeral Home Marker." From your second e-mail, I didn't find your Blair. There are three Blairs listed in the County. They are Callie Earles Blair, b. 1890, d. 1979 in Fairview Baptist cemetery; Goldie I. Blair, b. Nov. 25, 1907, d. Feb. 12, 1975, in Lilly, John P. cemetery; Henry Y. Blair, b. Jun. 12, 1888, d. Apr. 24, 1965, also in Lilly, John P. cemetery. I hope maybe these names mean something to you. 3. Thanks Ken, The marriages are a little confusing, especially with the way I sent them. I believe her 1st husband was Hugh Simmons, 2nd the Meador, and the Roberts is either last, or very possibly an early 1st marriage. Anyways, the Luzannie B. Meador very well could be here, I have a birthdate of July 29th, 1892., so 3 years difference, and 2 days, but hey we know that's many times quite common. I wonder if she is buried next to a John Meador? Thanks again for your help. John

    3. John, I'm a little confused by your message. You start off saying Hugh Simmons was Luzana's first husband, but later in your message you say he was her third husband. Now, where does Meador fit in? In the Summers County cemetery book there is a Luzannie B. Meador buried in Ellison cemetery. It shows her birth date July 27, 1889 and death date Aug 12, 1983. Is it possible this is the one you're looking for? Hope this helps. 3. I found several pictures of her in my mother's things.. I think her mother was Bessie Wiseman who marr. Luther Greene Dodd in 1912 Talcott, WV, according to my informatioin. A note on the back of one picture says "dedicated school teacher/principal" Her Uncle William Paxton Wiseman was my ggrandpa. And I am wondering who this "Pappy Dodd" was.. Thanx -----Original Message----- From: JeanB [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, June 15, 2005 8:24 AM To: Marilee Jolliff Cc: [email protected] Subject: RE: [WVSUMMER] Re: WVSUMMER-D Digest V05 #23 Jean, are you related to Mae Dodd? I think she was a teacher there, some years ago. Yes, in fact I have a letter from her written a few years before she died. It's a long story, but I was adopted as a little kid..and in 1992 I found my siblings and aunts, cousins, etc. But no one was into genealogy or knew anything about the family. What I did find was that my mother was born in Hinton...so my friend who was helping me find everyone, made some calls there and was given the name of Mae as the "town historian'...and I wrote to her and she sent me the nicest letter...told me she was a cousin...but I don't know who her father was, never got to that.. In 1999, my daughter and I went to a reunion there, and I met some of my kin and had a wonderful time getting to know them. It's funny, we were at a restaurant, and a guy came over to my daughter and said something about not seeing her in so many years since high school..LOL...she told him she wasn't even from WV, but RI and he said..well isn't your name ..Dodd??? She had to tell him NO, but we were there for a Dodd reunion. Everyone thought it was just amazing. Another thing was, when my Lori got out of high school, she went to work at a nursing home. Her 1sst patient, was a man called Pappy Dodd, and she never knew he was her own great grandfather until years later when I found the family... And Mae told me what her hobbies were, and they were the same as mine.. including writing.. ceramics, etc. so see, some things DO stay with the adoptee. I should write a book I guess. Have a nice day...Jean

    3. There are two funeral homes in Hinton that I can think of at this time. Pivot is across the street from the courthouse. The other is Ronald Meadows Funeral Home. It is on Temple Street. I do believe the Meadows Funeral Home was there in the early 1900's. It was a funeral parlor and furniture store.
