She was born in Auburn, WV, a daughter of the late Porter and Edna COOPER NUTTER. She was a 1928 graduate of Glenville High School and received a standard normal certificate. She taught in West Virginia and Ohio schools for 15 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Riddles' Chapel Congregational Church. Surviving are a son, Lewis BARNARD of St. Marys, WV; three daughters, Barbara SIMMONS, Diane BURWELL and Patty OVERFIELD, all of Harrisville; a brother, Paul S. NUTTER of Auburn; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Howard BARNARD, in 1963; a son, Donald BARNARD; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, August 4th, 1:00 p.m., at Riddles' Chapel Congregational Church with the Rev. Harlan Hodge officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is until 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, and at the church from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. (submitter not related)
