JONES, 69, First St., Pennsboro, WV, died Saturday, 23 July 1994, at Louis A. Johnson V.A. Medical Center, Clarksburg, WV. He was born in Pennsboro, a son of the late Scott W. and Bertha CROSS JONES. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he received the Purple Heart. He served in the Army for 20 years, primarily as a military policeman. He owned and operated Pennsboro Small Engine Services, Inc., for 20 years. He was a constable in Ritchie County, the former Police Chief of Pennsboro, and the first Municapal Judge for Pennsboro. He was a life member of the Purple Heart Association, the Parkersburg D A V Chapter 6 and Clarksburg VFW Post 573. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie ROLL JONES; three daughters, Diane AMBROSE, Dolores WOTRING and Doreen SHREVES, all of Tuscaloosa, AL; a son, Duane JONES of Parkersburg, WV; a sister, Dorothy MOSSOR of Massillon, OH; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were four brothers and three sisters. Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with the Rev. Noble Crew officiating. Burial was in the West Virginia Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV. (submitter not related)
