RIFFLE, 61, of Friendsville, MD, died Sunday, 31 July 1994, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland, MD. Born 14 September 1932, in Mellin WV, she was the daughter of Earl A. ECHARD of Coolville, OH, and Goldie TOOTHMAN of Harrisville, WV. She was a graduate of Cairo (WV) High School and received an A.A. in Education from Garrett Community College. She was a former subsitute teacher and served as an instructional aide in elementary schools. She was a volunteer for the March of Dimes, the 1990 Maryland State Mother of the Year and 1989 runner-up. She served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the East Central District, West Virginia and Maryland Pentecostal Church, was a former secretary for the East Central District and was a former president of the Maryland State District. She was a pastor's wife at Rosedale United Pentecostal Church, 1960-71, and at the Friendsville United Pentecostal Church, 1971 to the present. She was an honorary life member of the Maryland Congress of Parents and Teachers. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Rev. Roy J. RIFFLE; two daughters, Sharol R. CODDINGTON of Friendsville, and Pamela R. CORLEY of Morgantown, WV; two sisters, Carolyn BARTLETT and Kathryn ADAMS, both of Harrisville, WV; five brothers, Denzil ECHARD of Parkersburg, WV, Wayne ECHARD of Coolville, OH, Stephen ECHARD of Sierra Vista, AZ, David ECHARD of Cairo, WV, and Mark ECHARD of Glenville, WV; two grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her stepfather, Ralph TOOTHMAN, and her son-in-law, Elwood "Lee" CODDINGTON. Services were held at Friendsville United Pentecostal Church, with the Revs. Kennieht Perine and Harold Reynolds officiating. Internment followed in Blooming Rose Cemetery. The Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, was in charge of arrangements. The family requests that memorials be made to the Hospice of Garrett County, Inc., 253 N. Fourth St., Oakland, MD 21550.
