SPURGEON, 73, of Burnt House (Ritchie County), WV, died Tuesday, 11 December 1994, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg, WV, after a brief illness. He was born in Ritchie County, a son of the late James A. and Rosa LEGGETT SPURGEON. He was a farmer and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Ritchie County Farm Bureau, serving several years as its director. He was also a member of the Burnt House United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Boneva ELLYSON SPURGEON of Burnt House; a son, Kevin SPURGEON of Burnt House; a daughter, Cheryl SPURGEON of Harrisville, WV; and two sisters, Lovie MATHENY of Rochester, NY, and Dale Zinn of Cox's Mills, WV. Preceding him in death were a daughter and two sisters. Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, is in charge of arrangements. (submitter not related)
