She was born near Cornwallis, Ritchie County, WV, a daughter of the late William F. and Viola ROBERTS GRIFFITH. She was a homemaker and a member of the Glendale Farm Women's Club. Surviving are her husband of 53 years, Carl W. VANPELT; a daughter, Helen MIRACLE of Pennsboro, WV; three brothers, James "Josh" GRIFFITH and Frank GRIFFITH, both of Pennsboro, and Tom GRIFFITH of Lumberport, WV; a sister, Alma MEDLER of Indiana; a half sister, Iva PIERCE of Washington; and a grandson. Preceding her in death were two half brothers, two half sisters, a foster sister and a grandchild. Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Evangelist Cecil Dotson officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, near Glendale. (submitter not related)
