LAYFIELD Sr., 97, formerly of Bellville, RD 1, died 11 February 1991, in Wayne County Care Center in Wooster, Ohio, following an extended illness. He was born 18 March 1893, in Ritchie County, a son of Thomas and Rosina MULLENAX LAYFIELD. He lived in the Bellview area for 45 years. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a retired employee of Westinghouse in Mansfield. He operated a farm near Bellview for many years. Surviving are two sons, Keith LAYFIELD of Bellview and Clyde A. LAYFIELD Jr. of Wooster; two daughters, Thelma Maxine SACKMAN and Lois COX, both of Bellview; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clancy LAYFIELD of Fort Smith, Ark.; and one sister, Elsie MARTIN of East Canton. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth WATKINS LAYFIELD; a grandson, Bradley LAYFIELD; two brothers, Bernard and Ray LAYFIELD; and a sister Norma Jean LAYFIELD. Services were held Feb. 13 aat the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home with the Rev. N. Thomas Kelley officiating. Burial was in Bellville Cemetery. (submitter not related)
