LAYFIELD, 91, of Cairo, WV, died Monday, 9 December 1996, in St. Joseph Hospital, Parkersburg, WV. She was born at Indian Creek, Ritchie County, WV, a daughter of the late John and Leverne WILLIAMSON. She was a retired homemaker and a member of the Davisson Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are five sons, Guy "Pete" LAYFIELD, of Harrisville, WV, Raymond LAYFIELD, and Andy LAYFIELD, both of Cairo, Henry LAYFIELD of Marion, NC, and Russell LAYFIELD of Big Isaac, WV; seven daughters, Virginia AMOS, of Pullman, WV, Delma BUNNER, of St. Marys, WV, Betty McVAY and Aretta "Junie" PORTER, both of Cairo, Mildred EDWARDS, of Nebo, NC, Edra LOWTHER of Glendale, WV, and Marjorie JACKSON, of Canton, OH; a brother, Harvey WILLIAMSON of Canton; 26 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Guy Raymond LAYFIELD; four brothers, a sister and four grandchildren. Services wer held at the House of the Living Word, Cairo, with the Rev. Rob Clegg and Pastor Dean Ash officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery, Oil Ridge Community. Raiguel Funeral Home, Cairo, was in charge of arrangements. (submitter not related)
