BROOKS, 98, of Ellenboro, WV, died Tuesday, 23 August 1994, in Pine View Continuous Care Center, Harrisville, WV. He was born in Finch, Ritchie County, WV, a son of the late Edwin A. and Amanda SAYERS BROOKS. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and a 21-year employee of Mid-Atlantic Glass Co., Ellenboro, retiring in 1960. He was a member of Pleasants Post 79, American Legion of St. Marys, and a Methodist by faith. Surviving are a son, Harry M. BROOKS of Cairo (Glendale Community), WV; four daughters, Patty CROSS of Ellenboro, Arwanda BOWERS of Cairo, Madge GILMORE of Pullman, WV, and Waneta FLINN of Parkersburg, WV; 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Elma Lucinda WINCE BROOKS, five brothers, two sisters, a grandchild and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Mount Olivet United Methodist Church, Finch, with the Revs. Frank Lambert and Dennis Saunders officiating. Burial followed in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Finch. McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV, was in charge of arrangements. (submitter not related)
