He was born in Cairo, a son of the late Thomas R. and Callie KELLY CANTWELL. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany and France with the 279th Quarter Master. He retired from Teamster's Local 175 and from Associated Transport & Trucking Company after 28 years of service. Surviving are three sons, John Henry CANTWELL, Jr., of Mineral Wells, WV, James B. CANTWELL and Timothy C. CANTWELL, both of Cairo; three daughters, Peggy CLINE and Julia Ann HINTON, both of Cairo, and Penny BOWSER, of Williamstown, NJ; two brothers, Eugene CANTWELL of Cairo and Russell THOMAS of Williamstown; three sisters, Imogene PHILLIPS of Cairo, Lucille LEACH of Parkersburg, WV, and Betty Jean BURG of Mountain, WV; and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a son, David Michael CANTWELL; two brothers, Larry CANTWELL and Tom CANTWELL; thee sisters, Marie McCULLOUGH, Joan WATSON, and Beulah SECURRO. Services were held at Raiguel Funeral Home, Cairo, with the Rev. Clelie Rexroad officiating. Burial followed in Cairo I.O.O.F. Cemetery. (submitter not related)
