He was born in Ritchie County, WV, a son of the late Elijah C. and Esta Ann McDONALD CLEVENGER. He was a disabled U. S. Army veteran, having served during World War II, and was a Baptist by faith. Surviving are his wife, Flora Mae HARDBARGER CLEVENGER; three sons, Larry Paul CLEVENGER and Orval James CLEVENGER, both of Marshall, WV, and Gary Lynn CLEVENGER of Wallace; two sisters, Freda HARDBARGER of Lake Ridge, WV, and Texie CUNNINGHAM of Wallace; six grandchildren, two great-grandsons, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were three sisters; Golden HARDBARGER, Beulah STUTLER and Opal POWERS. Services were held at Davis Funeral Home, Clarksburg, with internment at Pinelow Gap Cemetery.
