Louisa Nelson appearage 11 in the home of Samuel & Elizabeth in Randolph 1850 census. Joseph S Roy Jr m. Elizabeth Nelson 26 Sep 1839, Pendleton, Va. Elizabeth having died in 1856, Samuel appears in the 1860 Tucker Census with Columbus 14, Marion A 12, Sarah 9, and Ann 6. (No wife). Samuel appears in the 1880 Randolph Census age 63, living with s. Columbus. Randolph County Deaths show Samuel died 10 Aug 1886, age 73, of heart disease as submitted by M E Bonner d-in-law. M E Bonner was, in fact, Mary Ann Nelson b Jan 1849, d. of Robert J and Margaret (Mullenex) Nelson, w. of Christopher Columbus Bonner. This information should narrow your four possible wives to two and clarify whatever.
