Jeff L Carr adds the 'chink in the works' of Elizabeth ROY having married Archibald Martin BONNER, brother of Samuel H BONNER on 27 Oct 1853. Randolph County Marriages, in fact, reveals that Archibald BONNER, s. of William & Jemima m. Elizabeth ROY, d. of Joseph ROY 27 Oct 1853. There was, in fact an Elizabeth ROY in addition to Elizabeth (Nelson) Roy, which is why I mentioned the death record of the later revealing that the wife of Samuel BONNER was the d. of Absolam & Jane NELSON. What may be confusing to some is the problem of working from transcripts or indexes of the original records, which often are incomplete in description and sometimes in error. I confess that I may have erred in my own transcription of the original books in the Courthouses in question; if I have, please call me to repentance! Love ya all--keep up the good work!
