Hello, I am researching the family of Pennington's, who are relatives of mine and Debbie's. Listed below are the links that we have gathered where we found some of the information to help us in our search. Hope this helps some of you out. While visiting a local library in Martinsburg, WV. I found a census record in a book call 1880 Randolph County, WV and, a book by Maxwell listing this group of Pennington's in an 1880 Randolph County, WV census. Henry C. Pennington was listed in this group. There were only a few books there with Randolph County, WV listings but while talking to the genealogist helper there, he will try to get more books in on different counties of WV. Other information was passed on by other Pennington researchers. Unfortunately I don't remember their names, but if you followed the postings you should have seen them. I can't remember word from word in the letter sent to Debbie but it did mention Rebecca Anna Pennington listed on a birth certificate as being the mother of Henry C. Pennington. Also, she is the mother of Martin and Jesse Pennington. Now the father unknown part, I don't know if that was just for Henry or if it was pertaining to all three children. I'm sending away for a copy of Henry's birth certificate, since he is my Great-grandfather, to confirm this. Also while talking to my Aunt I have gathered information on the rest of my family such as my Grandfather and Grandmother, Joseph J. Pennington and Elva Ida Scheffer Pennington. Along with the birthdates and deathdates of my aunts and uncles. I haven't found a marriage certificate of my grandparents yet. But I'm still searching. I do know that they were married in the year 1919. My Grandmother Elva Pennington had a family bible listing all these dates, but unfortunately it fell into the wrong hands and was disposed of. This upset me greatly. So I asked my aunt for some information about Joseph J. Pennington and Elva down to listing all his children with birthdates and deathdates. I haven't completely the rest of the family tree as of yet. Since I have lost contact with some of my Uncle's and Aunt's and my cousins. I'm trying to find them and add to this family tree. This takes time and patience. Listed below are the links I have so far on this group of Pennington's. Some of the sites I have not fully checked out completely. Some of these site has lots of helpful tips and information about other groups of Pennington's. Hope this helps some of you out.
