Jay, I was thrilled to see your response to Betty regarding the lineage for the Crites line. I am one of many grandchildren of James and Iva Gertrude (Sandridge) Crites. Ileana Marion (Crites ) Williams is my mother. James was born James David Crites Jr, his father being James David son of Abraham Crites. My grandfather gave up his middle name over a arguement with his father, supposedly about politics. My dad told me the the Crites brother and their father were staunch Republicans and that Grandpa wanted to vote Democrat which created quite a ruckus in the family. I had been frustrated by not being able to link Abram "Abraham" Crites to the two earlier Abrahams. I had a hunch there was a link but I was off by one generation. Our family records didn't list Jacob. I would be happy to share my information on the Crites decendants and ancestors in my family (Sandridge, Proudfoot, Pringle, Hall, Wentz) if you are interested and I would appreciate it if your would share any information on the CRITES ancestors.
