As we come into the Holiday Season I find a strong pull away from the commercialization of the Christmas towards the more traditional. So in my thoughts I think of tradition and roots and what each generation has passed down to the next. This post is a call to all of you out there to come together and think about how you celebrate chrstmas with your families. And now the question: Is there any family tradition that you have brought down that comes from previous generations. Share it with us, bring back what has been lost. We might be surprised that there are simularities in our celebration. Whether it be Dutch, German, Norwegian, Scotch-Irish or English in Origin. Some of us may even have relics in our homes associated with Chistmas passed down from parent to child. While we are at it, if anyone has information on Historical events that are related to this holiday, or the history of how our ancestors celebrated Christmas, either here in the colonies or back in Europe. Also, think of Your Chrstmas meal. You may have recipes passed down. Or even just the make up of what goes on the table, the apperatives before, the traditional desert or drink afterwords. Let's have fun with this and share. Jay Steffens
