Charlotte, > Have you checked the early records for what is now, Ulster co., NY?  There are a bunch > there.  Hornbeck's and Cortwright's.  I hope that I have helped.  I'm not sure when > Ulster > became a county, sorry on that part. Yes I have been looking at that.  The best I can tell a group of the Dutch Colonist moved from NY and NJ about the same time period which relates roughly to when The Brits took over New Netherlands and Called it New York.  The questions I am working on is Who moved when. There were several Exodus'.  From Holland, Denmark, Germany, Etc to New Netherlands.  Then a smaller migration of some, not all to New Jersey area.  Then there is a mass exodus from both NJ and NY to the Potomac River Valley area or Tygert Valley area.  Some went to one first then to the other, more often from the South Branch of the Potomac to Tygert Valley/Beverly area.  Now there was another exodus with Samuel Pringle to Buckhannon and Hackers Creek areas.  And from there, to Westward Ho!  Some populated the Ohio Valley, some south to Kentucky, and some North to Indiana/Illinois.  Many stayed in WV, but more towards Huntington and Charleston.
