Hi Robin. What a great story! I am descended from Soldier White through his son Levi. Randolph County marriage records show that Thomas White married Mary Rains on August 28, 1821. Thomas White also married Lucy Raines on May 29, 1830. I don't know the connection between Mary and Lucy or who the parents were of either of them. Levi was born in about 1828 (he gives his age as 22 in the 1850 census; as 32 in the 1860 census; as 42 in the 1870 census; and as 52 in the 1880 census), which is why I believe his mother was Mary Rains. Soldier and Lucy Raines were married until his death on June 15, 1883. Lucy died May 26, 1884. They had 4 children that I know of. I do have a lot of information on the White family. Some of it is well-documented, but I'm not sure where some of it originated and don't know if it is 100% accurate. However, I would be happy to send you what I have.
