I have been having some trouble tonight - hope this doesn't all look like CODE when it comes up in the list! Hi Dan - Margie McCrobie would be my grandfather's sister. Their father was David Allen McCroby (that's the way we spell our surname - but you see it many different ways). Like I mentioned earlier, the only knowledge I have of her is from finding her on the 1910 census of Randolph County - and there isn't anyone alive that I could ask. My dad and his brother and sister are all dead - she would be their aunt. In doing some editing this week, I ran across her name, and thought I would try again to find her. My grandfather's mother was Cora May Frankhouser. David remarried twice after the death of Cora. That is why I am not sure who her mother was - or if she was the daughter of the wife, and adopted by David. When I was a little girl, we had a lot of contact with the aunts and uncles, but I don't remember this one. Then again, most of them lived in Morgantown by then, and if she was somewhere else, that would explain it. I'm stuck on this one!!! -------Original Message------- From: WVRANDOL-L@rootsweb.com Date: Sunday, October 27, 2002 12:19:29 AM To: WVRANDOL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [WVRANDOL-L] Vital Records or 1920 census Out of curiosity, can you share why you are interested in Margie McCrobie. Was she an ancestor? An ancestral relative? To answer an earlier question, one could presume, without knowing for certain, that McCrobie was a married name, since it was the name of her two sons. -- dhamrick4@neo.rr.com Dan Hamrick 402 23rd Street NW Canton OH 44709-3818 Telephone: 330-454-2376 > Thanks Dan - you have given me lots of help! Bonnie, since I live in Elkins, if you will send me exactly what you are searching for, I will be more than glad to do some "leg" work for you at the court house. I'm about 2 miles from it. AND Dan - you are some nice guy to offer to do this.
