What is peculiar about the census finding to me was that her maiden name was McCrobny, and her two sons were named McCroby. Is there an explanation for that? I may have been spelling it wrong earlier. "...her maiden name was..." That is a question I had too, and is why I asked you if you knew if she was married. When I had a baby in 1970, the gal in the other bed had a child named with her maiden, because she was unmarried. I don't guess you have to always give a baby the father's name. This gal named her little boy after her father, and called him "II" (the second), rather than Jr. Just another clue...
