Is there maybe a Summerfield researcher who could help with the family of Thomas Summerfield & Anna Raines? I have pieced together this scenario, but some of the pieces don't seem to fit together quite right. Does this look right so far? My primary research is on the Roy family but through Roy marriages they are connected very closely to several other surnames in the area, Summerfield being one of them. Any help would sure be appreciated. Morton has it that way, but Morton also has him married to Martha Gragg. Was it the first Thomas Summerfield (1) (bro. of Joseph) who m. Martha Gragg, widow? (note that Thomas Summerfield (2) son of Thomas Summerfield (1) m. Elizabeth Roy dau of Joseph Roy (1)). Birth date for Thomas Summerfield (3) who m. Anna Raines 1850 census, 62?, c1788 1860 census, 68?, c1792 1870 census, 75?, c1795 1850 census Randoph - Thomas Nelson age 6 and Daniel Nelson age 5 are living with them. Are these the children of Lucinda Summerfield who married William Nelson? In the same census there is a William Nelson age 13 living with Isaac Roy & Emily Vance. In the 1850 census in Pendleton William Nelson is living with wife Sidney. 1860 census Randolph - there is a Sarah Davis age 29 living with them, as well as Thomas Summerfield age 18 and Daniel Summerfield age 16. Sarah Davis? At first I thought this was their daughter Sarah, but that Sarah is living with her husband, Washington Roy & family in the same census. Thomas Summerfield 18 and Daniel Summerfield 16? Are these the Nelson children in the 1850 census? 1870 census Randolph - Thomas Summerfield age 75 living with son George W. Summerfield and family.
