    3. This was taken from the Petro genforum, it seems to say that the Petro's were German or French (Alsace, Lorraine) and changed the name from Peterri to Petro....I don't know if that is true, any Petro descendant have the facts? "I have also seen this at a LDS family History center near where I live. They have it in with their family CD's that I looked through. Philip Peterri had 2 sons 1.Philip born 1718 Palitinate,Alsace Germany d. Rockbridge Co. VA 2. Johann Bernhardt Petro Peterri b.1722-1723 Alsace,Lorraine France d.1813 Warren co. OH. Johann dropped the Peterri name and began using his 2nd middle name Petro. He was maried to Mary Starn." ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean Loudin" <jloudin@rtol.net> To: <WVRANDOL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, March 23, 2002 10:21 AM Subject: Re: [WVRANDOL-L] HENRY PETRO KITTLE > It just is not only about accepting other people's research.
