I live in Loudoun County Virginia. I'm a good 5-6 hours from Elkins. My grandmother Bohon is in a nursing home there. Most of my roots are in Randolph, Barbour, Upshur, Tucker and Preston. I was raised in Bridgeport. My mother's family lived on Stone Coal Road between Mill Creek and Adolph. I took some lovely pics from that ride last year. Her mother's family is buried in Jeresulum Cemetary in Mill Creek (Cutrights, Raders, etc.). My maternal grandfather (Williams, Tenney) is at Zirkle Cemetary. Zirkle is very well kept and Jeresulum is not in bad shape. There is alot of missing history in my family. My grandfather preached in those mountain churches...not sure which ones though. My mother is buried in Bridgeport Cemetary. I had a strong urge last summer to travel through Randolph County with my dad to get some family history. I tried to get my maternal grandmother to tag along, but she is not in good health. I went to the Beverly center in hopes of doing some research, but my young son doesn't do well in unfamiliar places so I left quickly. I then gave my aunt my Family Tree software installation disks and then had to reinstall everything...so I am missing my program to run my files. I hope to get it back next week.
