    3. Dear Ethel, My GGG-grandmother was Christina Petro. Her father was Henry Petro (b. abt. 1763 in Randolph County, [W.] Va. and d. aft. 1833 in [W.]Va.). Her mother was Elizabeth Ann Ke[i]ttle (b. abt. 1755 in Randolph County, [W.]Va. and d. Jan. 7, 1834, place unknown). Henry Petro's father was Nicholas Peadro [Petro?] (b. abt. 1736 in Randolph County). Nicholas' father was ??? Peadro (b. 1703 in Randolph County) Elizabeth Ann Kettle's father was Abraham Kittle (b. Jan. 1, 1730/31 in Rochester, Ulster County New York or New Jersey, m. Aug. 30, 1754, d. Sept. 16, 1815 in Randolph County). Her mother was Christina Westfall (b. bef. 1738 in Ulster County, New York, d. bef. 1805 in Randolph County, VA). Much of this information came from the Don Norman files and other published data. I don't have the original documentation for this line but I've never seen it challenged. Obviously, I don't have your Henry Petro Kittle, but I can't imagine that he is not connected to this group in some way. I hope this helps - contact me if you think I might be able to help you further. 3. "Henry Petro's father was Nicholas Peadro [Petro?] (b. abt. 1736 in Randolph County). Nicholas' father was ??? Peadro (b. 1703 in Randolph County) Elizabeth Ann Kettle's father was Abraham Kittle (b. Jan. 1, 1730/31 in Randolph Co" I don't know if you got the above from Don Norman's files or not, but there is now way in the world it can be right. Nobody but a bunch of indians was living in non existent Randolph Co. at that time. Nobody had even come across the mountains at that time. I would suggest the dates and places and maybe even the names are wrong. The Pedros (Petros) were in Randolph in the 1760s at earliest as they were involved in some of the indian wars, but they came from someplace else. Tradition said that the oen who moved in was Spanish. I have not myself worked on this family, but I do know those dates and places are totally incorrect. Jean

    3. Thanks, Jean. That's why I made sure to point out that I had not done any original research on these names. I know the dangers of accepting other people's research at face value without seeing original documents!
