Karen, you didn't give much to go on. The Skidmore family is rather large. If you post some dates for your Thomas and Elijah I'm sure someone will be better able to help you. My only Skidmore was James S. Skidmore (b. 8/16/1784), the second husband of Prudence Graham Kuykendall. He died in 1860 while living in Randolph county but I don't know the exact date or where he is buried. Prudence died 11/21/1879 in Upshur County and is buried in Ross Cemetery in southern Upshur County near Randolph County. By the way, Prudence Graham's mother was Nancy Cunningham (b. 12/16/1767), the daughter of Robert Cunningham and Prudence Parsons. I'd welcome any comment/information on Robert Cunningham. Robert Cunningham is shown as the spouse of Prudence Parsons in the Virginia Parson McCabe genealogy titled PARSONS Family History and Record, published in 1913, page 19. I have a photocopy of that page and a few others that I made at the WV Archives in Charleston. Unfortunately at the time I made the copies I wasn't aware of my Cunningham connection and made the copy for other information on the page. I don't know if that book has more information on the descendants of Robert Cunningham and Prudence Parsons. I surmised the date of their marriage as being "before 1772" because the will of her father, Thomas Parsons (born about 1687 in England) was dated 5/27/1771 and recorded 3/10/1772. In the will he leaves proceeds of the sale of his property to (among others) his daughter Prudence and son-in-law Robert Cunningham.
